Retired Athlete Counseling

Few experiences become as integral to our identities as the experience of being an elite athlete. It is often not just a thing that athlete's do, but rather can become a sense of who they are. Many athlete's struggle to maintain a strong sense of self, clear direction, and motivation in life after letting go of a part of themselves that they have refined over the course of decades of training and dedication to their sport. For team players this can also mean a shift in the amount of interaction they have with close teammates and people that become so close they are like family.
